Под кодовым название DEADBEAT скрывается всего один человек Scott Monteith, который с 1998 года светился своими синглами на таких лейблах как Cynosure, Intr_version, Revolver и лишь в 2003 году заключил контракт с набирающим силу лейблом ~scape специлизирующемся как раз на такой минималистичной форме музыки и выпустил первый альбом «Wild Life Documentaries».
