We first met Serafim Tsotsonis through his contributions in the "Aural Exciter" and "One Nation 2" compilations. Almost one year later, and more specifically on the 23rd of November, Serafim releases his debut project titled 'Peak'.
Serafim Tsotsonis was born in Athens in 1977. He studied piano and theory and went on to sound engineering. He creates classical as well as electronic compositions, with a wide interest in all audiovisual means of expression. His musical influences range from classical music and composers such as Erik Satie and Claude Debussy up to Manos Hatzidakis, Joy Division, Brian Eno, Mick Karn and Wim Mertens.
Serafim has composed music for the cinema, theatre, documentaries, dance shows and video art projects that have been presented in Greece and abroad, such as E Pluribus Unum - Academia di Belle Arti, Acqueity Academia Belle Arti, Palazzo QuellaPremio Stella (Italy).
In the summer of 2004 he participated in the 1st Synch Festival and a little while later he composes music for the Cultural Olympiad of 2004. Plenty of other theatre plays continue as well as his participations in the Synch 2005 and 2006 Festivals.
In Peak, Serafim creates music that is as much classical as it is electronic. This is an album with 14 tracks with originality and a cinematic mood as their common denominator. 14 tracks that take the listener into a world of dreams! Emotionally charged, dreamy melodies, classic orchestrations. Sweet melancholy as well as an optimistic feeling from an album that moves through electro pop and experimental soundscapes that sometimes touch on minimal atmospheres...
